Acted as New Zealand counsel to Cheung Kong Infrastructure (CKI), the largest listed infrastructure company in Hong Kong, in relation to its successful bid to purchase Vector's Wellington electricity network.

Registration of JPMorgan Chase Bank and Bank of Baroda
Advised JPMorgan Chase Bank N.A. and Bank of Baroda on their registration as banks under the Reserve Bank of New Zealand Act.

Singapore Airlines Cargo
Acting for Singapore Airlines Cargo in proceedings brought by the Commerce Commission under the Commerce Act against a number of cargo airlines alleging price fixing.

Fisher & Paykel Appliances equity raising
Advising Fisher & Paykel Appliances Holdings Limited on its recapitalisation and, in particular, the introduction of Haier Group as a cornerstone 20% shareholder.

Bangladesh – obligations under United Nations conventions
Advised Bangladesh, the country most significantly affected by climate change, on its negotiating position and key objectives at the Cancún United Nations Climate Change Conference. This work included advising the Bangladesh Parliament on the link between climate change and human rights obligations under United Nations conventions.

World's first carbon deal for avoided deforestation
Advised the Government of Aceh (Indonesia) on a deal which will protect Aceh's rainforests from logging for up to NZ$1 billion in carbon credits over the next 30 years. This is the world's first carbon deal for avoided deforestation.

Korea Telecom
We advised on the company’s joint venture EASTSAT satellite project.

Industry protection
We have defended the Chinese tyre industry in an Egyptian investigation and the Thai pineapple industry in an investigation by Australian authorities.

Hutchinson Whampoa
We acted for Hutchinson in its New Zealand and Australian 3G joint ventures with Telecom New Zealand to provide 3rd generation mobile services.

Chinese steel industry
We acted jointly with law firms Kirkland & Ellis (Washington) and King & Wood (China) to represent the Chinese industry in a US steel investigation.

Tang Cargo
We advised international deep sea explorer Rickshaw Investments Limited in the sale of Asia's oldest shipwreck and cargo, the 60,000 piece Tang Dynasty "Tang Treasure" to the Singapore Government.
