Acquisition of South Canterbury Finance loan portfolios
Advised a global investment bank on its successful acquisition of the rural, commercial and consumer loan portfolios of failed finance company South Canterbury Finance Group, with an aggregate book value of around NZ$123 million.
Finance Companies including Bridgecorp Finance Limited (In Receivership)
Acting for the receivers of a number of finance companies on litigation matters, including bringing recovery claims against directors of Bridgecorp Finance.
CWF Limited (In Liquidation)
Acting for the liquidators in opposing claims brought by creditors arising from the collapse of the Trinity Forestry scheme, including successfully opposing leave to bring claims against the liquidators on a number of issues in the High Court.
Wall Group Limited
Advising the major creditors of Wall Group Limited (previously Pacific Retail Group Limited) in relation to a compromise proposal made by the directors of Wall Group. The total value of claims was $90 million.
